Tricity Xplorer
Although there exist many websites & apps for retrieving requisite information about certain city to the visitors but that's not handy and instant. To overcome this shortcoming, an App has been developed by Mandeep Rajpal (CSE), known as TriCity Xplorer, using which traveling visitors can retrieve information about its various attributes viz. restaurants, malls, cinema halls, hospitals, etc. with details like phone no., address, longitude, latitude, etc. within 3 km radius from their current location. The current location is obtained through GPS or Network provider and Google Map API at back end is used to search nearby places. This App is developed in Java using Android Software Development Kit. It serves the visitor as reliable and free Guide and runs on all devices with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) or above.

8085 SIMULATOR
The Intel 8085 is an 8-bit
microprocessor introduced in 1977 and this 8085 simulator simulates the
execution of the assembly language used with that 8085 MP.
One
of the reasons that led to the development of this application was to provide
an environment to the students which would help them learn assembly language
from the comfort of their homes at their PCs without the need of buying an 8085
MP Kit. Also, in a standard 8085 MP kit you are required to punch in the
assembly language in hex format and hope nothing goes wrong, but with this
simulator all you need to do is write the assembly language instructions, hit
enter and sit back, so that the assembler can take care of the rest.
Software used:
It is a Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) application written in C# and
xaml. The integrated development environments (IDE) used are Microsoft Visual
Studio 2010 and Microsoft Expression Blend 4. And the different graphics are
made using Microsoft Paint, GIMP 2 and Paint.NET.
Features:
·
Easy to use and less cryptic
than the 8085 MP Kit.
·
No need to remember all
those hexadecimal code as the simulator remembers it for you.
·
View the state of the
memory / register.
·
Modify any memory location
/ register / instructions.
·
Simulator helps in
debugging the program.
·
Option to save projects.
·
It’s portable, as it can
be used on desktops, laptops & even on some windows tablets. Also, it
has some additional applications: Hex-to-Decimal converter, etc.
The architecture of the source program is
designed in such a fashion that with a minimum change in the source code, the
simulator can execute assembly languages used in other machines such as IBM
360/370. Also, new type of assembly languages can be designed with a little
change in the source code.

E GOVERNANCE CENTER
Of all the technical institutes of
Punjab , CGC is the first institute which can rightfully claim of having made a
significant contribution for the development of the State by setting up the
first center for e-governance as a joint venture with the Punjab Government.
The main objective of e-governance is to provide an efficient and transparent administration,
making the government machinery far more useful for the public.
Consequently, the teachers and students have joined hands for the computerization of various departments of the state. It is thus a golden chapter in the history of CGC to be a part of a wide ranging development programme of the State government. Inaugurating this prestigious project Dr Pramod Kumar, Chairman, Punjab Governance Reforms Commission, highly appreciated the initiative taken by CGC, and emphasized that this two-edged programme will bring efficiency and speedy working of Govt. Departments and excellent opportunities to work on live projects to the students. As a first step in this direction the project on computerization of jails has already been completed in partnership with Punjab Infotech.
